The sun is starting to set. Very pretty. It's 4:30 in the afternoon. Okay then.
In other news, Bethany and I went swimming today. We're quite proud of ourselves. Well, it's kind of tricky. First you have to find a pool. That's open. (We went to one a few weeks ago, but it was closed, permanently. At least I think it was. The whole language barrier thing, you know).
So we found the address of a second one. Then there's the issue of finding the actual pool even when you know the address. It looked like a high school. I carried the stroller up the front steps and went in. Between my (extremely limited) Lithuanian and the woman's (so-so) English, I figured out that we'd arrived approximately in the right place, but we had to go outside and around to some other door.
We found it. A "Sporto Centras" (you can figure it out), stuck onto the back of the high school. Great. We went in, paid, figured out where the change rooms were, swam, and came home. And it was raining on the way home. But we didn't let that "dampen" our spirits.
So we were quite proud of ourselves.
Oh, and it was lengths swim. But there was only one guy in our lane with us, and we just huddled near the corner when he was near our end, and then sloshed around a little each time he swam down to the other end. It worked. We'll definitely go again. I've missed swimming! They open at 7 or 7:30. Maybe I could go swim some lengths sometimes before Phil goes to work. Hmm, that seems like it would take a lot of energy. We'll see.
Oh, and I was required to wear a bathing cap. Nice.
You didn't let it "dampen" your spirits... Good one!
