Feeding the "Ducks"

Today Bethany and I went out to feed the "ducks".  Yes I know, they're rather large and white-looking to be ducks.  Bethany refers to all birds as "du".

Here they come!

 I was trying to throw the bread into the water, but it was really windy, and some of it was landing on the grass.  But these guys were gutsy.  They would just walk right up onto the grass and get it.  This one was actually making me a little nervous.  Right before I took this shot, he had just finished whacking a (real) duck a couple of times with his wing to fend him off.

 But the duck wasn't too deterred.

ok, they're coming for us!  Abandon the mission!  :)  (Notice I'm backing up with each shot).

Bethany was a bit sad when she realized the bread wasn't for her!  :)

Ah, yes.  Inside.  Warm and cozy.  So much better than standing out there throwing bread into the wind while wing-whacking swans waddle closer and closer.

And now, for making supper...
