Winter

Well, we have about 2 inches of snow on the ground.  It's not much, but it's all we've had so far this year, so Bethany and I decided to make the best of it this morning.

Does she remind you of the little kid in A Christmas Story?

We built a snowman.

It's about 6 inches tall, if you can't tell.  I just went to the window to see if it was still standing (2 hours later), and I can't even see it from here.  Seriously.

And then of course, we went to see our beloved ducks.

The ice is thick enough for the ducks to stand on, but when the swans try, they just clamber right through.

It was 11am and this is how high the sun was in the sky.  ok.  Just a few more days and the days will start getting longer!

But if I just turned around and faced the other way, the sky looked like this:

Gorgeous!

By now we were getting cold.  So with one more peek at our snowman, (for whom we built a snowfort, you'll notice) -

 ...those ridges all around it!  That's a fort.  Come on.  My kid is 14 months old.  We set our aspirations low.  :)

- we headed inside.

Our whole grand adventure lasted about 15 minutes, but it was worth it.
