A friend told me about something called Parent and Family Literacy Centres. They're basically just playgroups that are run through the school board. They have them at a few schools here in Kingston, so Bethany and I decided to check one out this morning. I had the following conversation:
[me]: What's your name?
[girl at the playgroup]: Sasha.
[me]: how old are you?
[girl]: 3. Does your baby know how to count?
[me]: I don't know. Maybe you could teach her.
[girl]: ok. A B C D...
So, needless to say, Bethany still doesn't know how to count.
I love the new blog, Jess! And even though she may not be able to teach Bethany how to count, maybe Sasha could teach her how to read.
