Yesterday was the second Sunday in a row that I forgot my nursing cover in the church nursery. If my head wasn't screwed on...
So anyway, I didn't realize this until yesterday afternoon when we were at an open house (the Christmas kind, not the house buying kind), hosted by one of Phil's professors. There I was, in an upstairs bedroom with a gazillion coats stacked on the bed, my diaper bag on the floor, and no nursing cover. I considered trying to use my coat, but is was buried near the bottom of the stack. I considered asking the professor's teenaged son if I could nurse Bethany in his bedroom, but that seemed Very. Weird. So, I decided to brave it without. And it worked! A few people came in to get their coats, but they didn't seem to mind, and surprisingly, I didn't really mind either. I'll still use the cover routinely, but it's nice to know I can make it work without in a pinch.
So today, Bethany and I are off to the church to retrieve the cover, along with getting groceries and doing a few other errands... Any of you homemakers out there ever notice that the work never ends?!
That must take some guts, Jess. But I'm proud of you for doing so!
